    Ebay item 5/13/11
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-Jaguar-XKE-Roadster-Series-II-One-Owner-Estate-Car- ...
Current bid $3,649 reserve not met, 6 bids 6 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar XKE Series II Roadster that was recently purchased from the estate of the original owner. It was purchased new in Pennsylvania and subsequently, many years ago, it was brought to the sunny and dry state of Arizona where it still remains! It has been driven and enjoyed by the same family since new and has been in storage for the last several years due to the ill health of its owner, although they did keep it serviced and in great running condition! We believe that the 50,332 miles showing on the odometer are actual miles on the car!

Odometer Reading: 50,332 (Believed to be original)
    VIN Number: 1R13165
    Manufacture Date: 4-70

The body is 99% rust free and is really as rock solid as you would expect an Arizona car to be! The paint is 25+ years old and while it looks great in my photos, upon close inspection you will see that it is thin in spots, aged and definitely needs and deserves a gorgeous new paint finish! In the interest of full disclosure, I will mention that it has a small dent repair in the lower front corner of the left rocker under the battery and some slight bubbles in the paint at the body seam in the same area and these few small areas should in no way affect the value of this otherwise rock solid Jaguar! The body is actually in very nice condition otherwise and would make a very easy and straight forward restoration for anyone, even a novice! There are no other signs of any prior accident history. The bonnet is straight and untouched and the body appears to have all of its original sheetmetal. The underside is untouched original and appears to be rock solid! The chrome, for the most part, is still in fair to very nice, driver quality condition and would easily be rechromed if you want a 100 point show car. The chrome wire wheels are still in exceptional condition!

The interior is very complete and in very nice original condition and could be used and enjoyed just the way it is. It still sports it's original leather seat covers with no tears or splits, just the normal leather age marks. The stuffing in the headrests has lost some of its body and cushion. The gauges are clean and bright and the dash is in great shape. All the gauges seem to work as they should. The radio plays fine and the wipers, horn, heater fan and interior lighting all work as they should. The convertible top is in very nice condition with just a little yellowing of the rear window. Included in the trunk is the 5th wire wheel spare tire and the original jack and knock off wheel tool kit!

Even though it has been in storage quite a bit in recent years, it has been religiously maintained and kept in fine running condition. The engine runs smooth and quiet and it drives very well! The transmission shifts as it should and the clutch feels strong. The brakes work great and the exhaust is quiet. I believe that it is basically a sound car mechanically and that it was not parked for any mechanical reason, but rather due to health issues on the prior owner's part. The car definitely can be driven and enjoyed just as it is and eventually give it the paint job or restoration that it deserves!
