Ebay item 12/1/06

Current bid $7,877 reserve not met, 6 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar XKE Roadster 4.2 series II. Its a nice solid car. I just spent $5,000 on a new head/valves etc. (top end work) Car was running fine, carburators now need rebuilding. I spent $2500 for new webber carbs but can not get them adjusted properly as the car spits. The car needs someone who knows how to get them adjusted properly or have the original carbs rebuilt (supplied with car) and have them put back to stock. Otherwise transmission, suspension, brakes, and steering all work and ran down road fine. Burgundy paint is in nice condition and shines, but does have minor dents, scratches, and a couple of bubbles that will need to be addressed in the future. Minor rust as shown will need to be addressed in the future. The trunk is solid, the convertible frame is like new with a nice cloth top. Nice glass, wire wheels, nice dash (no cracks) nice seats and door panels with no rips. A nice solid car. With a little work this could be a very nice car worth double its reserve price.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
