Exceptional E Type 4.2 S2 roadster with 5 speed Getrag gearbox. Produced on 17 October and shipped on 5 December 1969 to the American distributor in New York, it was first registered in the United States in early 1970. Exported in the 1990s to Great Britain where it was registered DMP98H, it was subsequently imported into Italy in 2004, where it was registered in the ASI register at number 10989. In 2005 it passed to the second owner and then in 2018 it passed to the third owner who undertook extensive maintenance and mechanical improvement works, with the well known Jaguar specialists Baroni of Milan.
The work was carried out between 2018 and 2023, and cost almost 30,000 euros. These works included installation of a Getrag 5 speed gearbox costing 11,800 euros. Over the years it has in its history file Italian Jaguar Register identity card, ASI Gold plate approval, Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, Certificate of Historical and Collectible relevance, and ACI-CSAI Historic Car Regularity form. It has always been subject to regular mandatory periodic inspections which show it has travelled less than a 1000 kilometres in a year.
