Seen on eBay, 5/2003. Ad reads:
"You are bidding on a beautiful 1970 Jaguar XKE, Series II, 4.2 liter Convertible, in British Racing Green with a Biscuit leather interior. This automobile is a real head turner. Please look at the pictures below and see for yourself. Now is your chance to own this gorgeous Jaguar XKE Convertible to drive and enjoy. This car has been sympathetically restored. It is not a show car but would fit right in at many that I’ve been to.
This is the most driveable of the XKE’s. It has a fully synchronized transmission, comfortable seats that recline with headrests, and enough power to make the tires chirp if you so desire.
This car has been garaged and has not been driven in the rain by the previous owner or myself. It is believed to be a three-owner automobile.
This car was first sold in Florida and remained there until 2000, spent 1 year in Georgia and has been in California for 1 year.

This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II Roadster that is finished in green over beige upholstery and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a black soft top, chrome knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, Smiths instrumentation, and an aftermarket AM/FM cassette player. The current owner acquired the car in 2003, and service in August 2021 is said to have included fluid changes and replacement of tune-up components. This Series II XKE is offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with removed stock wheels, service records, a repair manual, and Rhode Island registration.
The car is said to have been refinished in green and features a black soft top, a driver-side mirror, bright trim, chrome bumpers with overriders, and central twin exhaust outlets. Chipping paint and areas of rust are depicted in the photo gallery below, along with blemishes in the driver-side mirror glass.
Knock-off 15″ wire wheels are finished in chrome and mounted with 205/70 Cooper and Pirelli tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rears, and a brake fluid flush was carried out in August 2021.
The interior features beige seat upholstery with a matching center console, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include hand-crank side windows, black Jaguar-branded floor mats, an analog clock, a locking glove compartment, and an aftermarket AM/FM cassette player. Corrosion is present on the inside of the driver-side floor pan, and wear is noted on the seats and center armrest.
A three-spoke woodgrain-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer indicates 49k miles, approximately 30k of which have been added by the current owner. True mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features dual overhead camshafts and is equipped with twin Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. Service in August 2021 is said to have included changing the oil and replacing tune-up components. Corrosion is visible on various under-hood components.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Additional corrosion is noted on underside surfaces.
Documentation includes service records and a repair manual.
The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its registration.
