Sellers comment:
1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 4.2 Roadster. This is an ALL ORIGINAL and UNMOLESTED Classic. This car has 12,153 ORIGINAL MILES and the title has Original Box A miles with 12k miles. This car was purchased by my dad in 1975, and the car had approximately 9500 miles on it. Since 1975, this beauty has been driven less than 3000 miles. This car has been garaged since 1975 and has been in storage in Arizona for several years. The only things that I have changed on it: replaced fuel pump and radiator hoses. Besides this, routine maintenance has been done on this car. This includes oil changes, radiator flushes, and gasoline exchanges. Careful effort has ensured solidity to this classic. About two months ago,I changed the fuel pump and the car runs beautifully!!! I have never heard a 35 year old classic start on the second attempt and purrr effortlessly after years of storage! I have seen numerous "low milage Jags sell on Ebay" but they are not original at all (seats/radio/rims etc.). This makes me question the miles on these cars? This car has all five original tires!!! The spare tire has never been on the car. The rubber studs on the spare are still present! In addition, I checked the fuses before replacing the fuel pump and all the original fuses are there! There is no question that this car has original miles! And the buyer of this stunning vehicle will have no doubts as well. The jack has no wear on it as well. The owners manual is still with the car. This car was my dad's dream car when he was in college and was unable to afford it. He had driven MGA's and Healeys, but always wanted a JAGUAR! He found it in 1975. But years of little time and recent illness forces a sale. Although this car is absolutely stunning to a true collector (the smell of the trunk/lether interior/English ingenuity), this is not concourse (YET!). This car has no aftermarket pieces on it besides the fuel pump and radiator hoses. IT IS ALL ORIGINAL! Original red leather seats and upholstery/original white convertible top. Original tires, ask and it is original. But the car does have a few small door dings and one dent that occurred because the safety strap was not on the car and was opened too far. Besides these minor body defects, the brake and clutch master cylinder should be rebuilt (possibly slaves too) but nothing major! I have been told that on these models it is common for the plate from the radiator to the engine to corrode from sitting, but this is not the case! No traces of water or coolant has ever been detected in the block! This car has NO CANCER, NONE NONE NONE! Some surface rust on bottom exhaust though, cleaned easily. This car idles beautifully and has 50+ oil pressure. If you want an all original Jaguar that is like new that you can drive immediately and spend a little time making it concourse this car is for you! I hate to see it go, since it has been in my family for almost thirty years, but financial reasons forces sale. Also, the pictures of the leather interior are not very appealing. The leather is 35 years old but has no holes/burns/etc. These seats are in great shape but age has taken some toll on the color so redye may be the answer, but afterall this is an all original car! I have done my best to honestly portray the actual vehicle condition, but the car as all classics are sold "AS IS" but please feel free to ask any questions or inspect this beauty.

Sellers description:
I bought the car in 2004 from a woman in AZ who was selling items from her deceased husband’s estate. He was a collector and had this car stored in a garage for many years with 4 flat tires and a title with 12,272 miles on it. I had it shipped to Memphis, TN in an enclosed trailer and as advertised it was an all original condition vehicle, but needed some attention before road use as the tires, hoses and seals had dried out, tank had nasty stale gas from sitting. So I went through the car, and in particular the fuel system, mechanicals and the cooling system front to back and returned them to good working order. The car started right up, as it does today, and runs smooth and powerful. I’ve housed the Jag in a climate controlled garage and only driven it to local British car shows and charity events. Odometer indicates 14,035, the difference being the miles I have driven it here in TN.

Replaced parts:
New chrome wire wheels and tires (some spokes on original wheels had rusted)
Gas tank professionally cleaned and sealed
Radiator inspected and pressure tested
All new cooling hoses even though they weren’t leaking
New water pump (seal was weeping, so I changed it out)
New belts
New battery
Rebuilt brake cylinders, with new brake pads even though the old ones weren’t worn out
Exhaust tips were pitted, so new, complete, stainless steel exhaust with chrome tips was installed
New clutch slave cylinder

All switches, lights, wipers, clock & radio work. Top is original and good shape. All glass is clear, no imperfections. Dash is crack free. Four-speed drivetrain is smooth. The leather is original and presentable in average condition after some foam was replaced and seats were recolored and Lexol treated. Paint is original and is in average condition with some tiny pits…same for front chrome bumper. Cowl has had a documented repair many years ago. Gas gage does not indicate correctly. Original tire changing tools and vinyl boot included.

Some small things: horns inoperable from steering wheel, emergency brake needs adjustment, drip small amount of oil when parked after use near rear of engine. Rubber seals for bonnet and bumpers and doors are aged and could be replaced.

This Jaguar XKE has original matching numbers drive train and continues to impress anyone who has the pleasure of driving it. Vehicle sold in "as-is" condition.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
