Ebay item 6/27/05

Current bid $8,988.00 (Reserve not met), 11 bids, 4 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This car would make a great addition to any collection. The value of this car in the Classic Collectible NADA car book in average condition is $23,000. Reserve is set far below average book value.

This car is a 1967 Jaguar XKE Type 2+2 Coupe. It is in good condition. It has the original 4.2 Liter V-6. It has a 4-speed manual transmission. It has dual exhaust. It has the original Jaguar Wire wheels with the original Jaguar knock off caps. This car is not perfect, but is in good shape for a driver. The odometer shows 03888. But we assume by the age that the miIage is 103888 if the odometer and speedometer are accurate.

The VIN # is: 1E76493 Engine # is: 7E51899-9 Gearbox # is: EJS9986 Body # is:4F51835

This car was purchased by owner's father approximately 20 years ago and has always been parked indoors since it was acquired. It is started and driven occasionally. It runs and drives great. It has new Lemans Champion 15" tires and has recently been driven. The headgasket was replaced a few months ago and the front bumper was rechromed.

We have the original grill piece but are unsure how to install it. The original tools and wire wheel copper and rawhide hammer are also included with the car. The original rubber Jaguar floor mats are in the car, and it has the original Jaguar steering wheel. The interior is original and in fairly good shape. The car appears to have factory air, but I haven't tried it. The front seats are showing wear. The leather is getting old and cracking.

It is missing the seatbelts, the windshield wiper arms, and the original ashtray from the front. The front end has been repainted due to something getting spilled on the front end. The rest of the paint is in fairly good condition. There are a few minor imperfections that are not noticeable from a few feet away, but when looking close you can find a few.

There is no rust on this car that is not surface that we can find and there is very little surface rust. There is a minute amount of surface rust starting to appear under the edge of the car, but the undercarriage is in good condition with no apparent damage. The original style dual exhaust is starting to surface rust on the pipes but the chrome tail pipes are in good condition.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
