Sympathetically restored original British supplied RHD car in striking combination of British racing green with biscuit interior and green webasto sun roof. An early 2+2 built in 1966 with good provenance.
Has useful upgrades of 123 ignition, 4 pot callipers, Fosseway fan and power steering. Fully documented nut and bolt restoration by Lanes Cars in 2010 and regularly maintained by specialists since with over £25k of work.
The Paintwork is excellent with no dints or scratches and interior is very good . The car retains the character and patina from an original car e. g windscreen shows age related lamination and chrome is slightly pitted in a few places. Engine bay is good and clean with new period look battery. It has a lovely period working Blaupunk radio with FM. The aerial works but needs replacing.
A well sorted and regularly used car with 73000 miles on clock, that I have owned since 2013. Runs beautifully. Last serviced by S&N Classics (Strensham) in April 2024. MOT exempt but last MOT expired 29 December 2023 at 70861 miles (no advisories). Humidity controlled stored since 2013 and rust free. Heritage certified. I bought the car in 2013 and am the 3rd registered keeper. This car was the 23rd to come of the Browns Lane production line on 23rd March 1966, and was originally Sherwood Green with tan interior. It was distributed by Walter E Sturgess, Leicester to Appleyards of Leeds and was first registered on 7 April 1966 and owned for 42 years by an engineer from Newcastle. A Webasto roof was added in 1967 or 1968 by Farrens Coach Works of Newcastle. It lay unused for 30 years until
Lanes Cars, a Jaguar marque specialist completed a full “nut and bolt” rebuild in 2010 bringing the car back to its original factory specification, with useful upgrades and changing the colour to British Racing Green with new biscuit trim.
