I just found this car locally. It is a rusty floor and rusty sill project car. It has three SU carbs and smooth alum. valve covers- since its a 1968, no glass over the headlights- the two carb set up must have been changed. The car is all there including the tool kit. I will try to sell for a restoration project, or, if too rusty, I will part the car.

Sellers description:
1968 Jaguar E-Type (XKE) Coupe. This is NOT A 2+2 Coupe. This is a project car. It needs restoration. This is a two previous owner's car: it was originally owned by a Dr. P. Deighan of Zanesville Ohio whilst the second owner since 1973 was Mr. K. Roberts of Fairfax VA. This car has not been on the road since 1975. This car is a Series 1.5 or Series 1 1/2 XKE Coupe; in other words, it has the Jaguar series 1 bonnet with the lights above the bumper blades, but NO glass over the headlights. It has the rocker switches on the center dashboard panel NOT the older style toggle switches. It has the series two XKE wire wheels and knockoffs. This is the transition model between the Series 1 and Series 2 cars. This is a rare model. This car has its original 4.2 liter engine and original 4 speed manual transmission. The car sports its original Dark Blue (Navy blue) paint and dark blue interior. I do not have the Jaguar Heritage Certificate for the car. We just found this car sitting in a dry garage awaiting a restoration. The Car No. is 1E35742, the Body No. is 4E37642, Engine No. 7E18105-9, and the Gear Box No. KE 2039.

The bad: There is rust in the floors and sills although rust repairs were started (by someone) to the floors and outer sills. Please see the photos and ask for more photos if you need them as I have many. The bonnet has three small rust holes but on the whole, is very nice. It does have some dents in the front of the nose but no putty or signs or repair on the bonnet. The trunk (boot) floor is in very good condition. The large radius arms need to be bolted to the floors. The doors need some rust repair also. The front windshield has a crack top center to bottom. The interior needs restored, too.

The good: The engine block is original to the car, but the intake manifold and carbs were changed over, at some point, to the much more desireable three SU carb (series 1) intake manifold set-up. It also has the smooth cam covers of the series 1 cars. The car seems complete. The car came to us full of parts boxes- interior pieces, rear bumpers, air conditioning pieces, spare wheel and tire, original radio, tool kit, jack and jack handle, seats with decent original dark blue leather, air cleaner top. The headlights are still the original Lucas pair of headlights. The engine, though not presently running, turns freely. The trunk area is amazingly free of rust with no holes; the gas tank seems good as well. All glass is present and in good shape. The rear hatchback door is in great shape. All chrome trim pieces are present. I see no evidence that the car has ever been painted or in an accident.
