This car was ordered by an American G.I. who was stationed in Greece at the time. He ordered it directly from Jaguar Cars UK to US federal specs but shipped it to Athens Greece.

He used it on the Greek Islands for approx 11/2 years, it was one of 3 XKE's in Greece the others were owned by a Docter friend and the other by a famous (at the time) Greek pop star.

It was shipped to NY in early 1970 and then driven by the owner on his return to the US across country to CA, with no problems I'm told!
He kept the car until 1991 and told me that he spent little on the car from a maintenance standpoint and did not use the car very much, he made no modifications at all.

It was then sold to the person who I purchased it from who pretty much kept it in storage for 12 years. The car is very original and rust free with a nice patina. My intent is to keep it as a nice original daily driver.

Future plans, possibly a "sympathic restoration".

Current bid $9,100.00 (Reserve not met), 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1968 Jaguar XK-E Series 1.5 FHC, this is a very original car it has not been "messed with" at all. It was first delivered in 1968 to an American G.I. who was stationed in Athens Greece until 1970. It was then shipped back to CA where it has been ever since. The car is finished in Pale Primrose with black leather interior, chrome wire wheels with red line tires.

1968 was an intrim year for the XK-E with many unique features not found on other years such as open headlamps with a small air intake, later dash, one of around 300 coupes exported to the USA that year.

The car has had 2 previous owners who have verified the 65,000 original miles.

Vehicle Condition
The car is in very good daily driver condition, there is no rust, the body has a couple of minor dings the rear RH bumper has a small dent, the interior is complete, the drivers seat cushion needs the leather repaired or replaced. It drives very well and looks great, there was a re-paint about 10years ago.

The important thing is the car is very original and it could be easily restored to show condition or left as is with a nice patina.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
