Sellers comment:
This is a 1968 xke 2 seat coupe, 4.2 standard shift. It has air conditioning. Car Number on tag is 1E35318 mileage is 64938
I have owned this car for 12 years and it has been in dry storage.
Vehicle Condition
The engine runs but will not idle with out the choke. Engine does not smoke. Good oil pressure. car shifts in all gears with out noise but pops out of 2nd gear when your hand is taken off of the shifter. Emergency Brake works. The master cylinder and booster are off the car so the brakes do not work. A new master cylinder is included with the car. The clutch works ok. The gas tank has been cleaned and coated with tank sealer. The car includes a new fuel pump. The car is 99% comlete with only a few pieces missing. Some body restoration has been done but the buyer should plan on further repairs to the body before painting can be done.
Engine Compartment: The air cleaner is off the car but is included. The heater fan is off the car but is included. The radiator fans both work. The tail pipes in back of the mufflers are missing. The resonators are missing. the sub frames appear to be in good condition with no collision damage. The car has a new battery tray.
Exterior : All the glass is intact although most of the rubber needs to be replaced. Some of the chrome trim around the windshield and back glass is missing. some of the trim around the head lights is missing. The driver side outer sill has been replaced as well as the bottom 3" of the inner sill. The passenger side outer sill is sound with no visable rust. The inner sill on this side had some thin spots and has been patched in two spots. The foot well lowered floors have been replaced on both sides. The remaining floor boards have been patched in several places. The trunk floor has been repaired but should be replaced. Most of the chrome is usable with the exception of the rear bumpers which need to be replaced. This car has some bondo in the rear quarter panel but I do not see any evidance of major rust in this area. The bonnet has no major rust but has a dent on the passenger side that has been partially straightened . The bonnet will need some alignment work in relation to the body. The doors do not show any signs of major rust. The paint is starting to bubble just a little on the passenger side door at the bottom. There is not rust through at the bottom of the doors.
Interior : The head liner is intact but needs replacement. The interior will need to be replaced. All of the gauges work with the exception of the clock. The raido and air conditioning do not work. The head light switch needs to be replaced. This car would make a good restoration project.

Hi,
I now own 1E35318, she has passed through a couple of owners in the last 12 years without any restoration work having been done, and now lives in London with me and the restoration will start very soon.
