My father had this maroon S1.5 FHC imported from Arizona in 1989. He subsequently had it converted to RHD and triple SU carbs. I have recently taken responsibilityfor the car after a period of neglect. I am doing a rolling restoration program tackling jobs as they arise. As a newcomer to all this I appreciate help and advice from E Type specialists and afficionados on technical issues.

My father had this car imported from the USA in 1989. He subsequently had it converted to RHD and triple SU carbs from the twin Strombergs. It currently needs a lot of TLC to bring it up to scratch. The aim is to make it a nice, reliable, usable car.

Ross - I have your original engine block in my 1968 2+2, 1E77808. I have no idea how it ended up in there - I purchased the car in 1994 and that's what it had in it. Wonder what engine # is in your car and I wonder what became of my engine.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
