Here is some information about the history of the ’68 1.5 E-Type car #1E34742. I once owned this car and know some of its background.
The car was originally purchased in San Jose, CA by a gentleman who lived in Saratoga, CA. He used it around town and for traveling over the local coastal range to his boat in Santa Cruz.
My girlfriend at the time bought it from him in 1986, and it was kept at my home in Cupertino along with my 1964 E-Type FHC. In 1989 she moved (with the car) to Davis, CA, where the car was garaged and not used. Then in 1994 I bought the car from her, and again it was garaged and not used in Piedmont, CA. Finally in 2000 I sold it to a local Jaguar collector and restorer in Oakland, At the time I sold it, it had approximately 120,000 miles on the odometer.
