Sellers description:
I am selling this 1968 Jaguar E-Type FHC- Beautifully restored. I have restored many classic cars in my lifetime, and while living in southern California, I occasionally drove a 1972TR6 to the office. A poker buddy of mine saw the car I had restored, and suggested I should check out a car that his dad had stashed in his garage for years. He had been encouraging his dad to sell the car. He said it was a Jaguar, but that was all he knew. I couldn't believe when he removed the tarp- there sat this E-Type. When I purchased this car from his father in 2009, the title revealed he had owned the car since 1976, and he stated he was the second owner. It had been parked in their garage unregistered since 1991. I spent 3 years undergoing a full rotisserie restoration where every part was either refurbished to its original condition, or replaced with authentic Jaguar parts. The car is completely numbers matching. In 2012, my teenage son was involved in a tragic accident, so I devoted the next year to his rehabilitation, and the car was properly stored in a climate controlled garage during this time. Once my son was well, I moved back to my home town in North Carolina and I had the car transported here. In the past 4 years, the car has only been driven about 300 miles to a couple local Jaguar events. It recently went through a full inspection and service at Tony's Foreign Car Center here in Wilmington, NC. Serious buyers are welcome to contact Tony or Gus with any questions about the car's condition. I have more photos available, including photos taken before and during the restoration process.
