This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe has been cared for by its current owner – who is a long-time JCNA member and registered JCNA Concours Judge for the last 29 years. The matching-numbers, fully documented XKE is refinished in the factory-original, desirable color combination of Dark Green Opalescent over a Suede Green leather interior; The Coupe keeps its factory-original 4.2-liter inline-six cylinder engine, along with its 4-speed manual transmission. The E-Type shows a low 56,000 miles, and is fully documented with known history and service records. It has been routinely serviced during the last five years by Classic Showcase.
The E-Type's Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate shows a manufacture date of 13 September 1966, along with full factory identification numbers and specifications. This XKE Coupe was dispatched to Jaguar Cars New York on 20 September 1966 and purchased by a Cadillac Motor Cars engineer from Detroit, Michigan. The car’s records show only two previous owners before the current one, who purchased it from a fellow JCNA member on May 30, 1996, with 47,650 original miles. The car underwent a comprehensive mechanical refresh and rotisserie body refinishing in its original color from late 1998 to early 2000 by Jaguar Specialist Pat Walsh Restorations.
Factory options include the rare Sundym heated-rear window glass and a Blaupunkt AM/FM/shortwave radio. The factory-original radiator and brake servo are included, plus a small assortment of other components. The XKE also includes a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, full service and restoration records, factory-original data plate, and a clean California title.
Recent Jaguar factory-approved component upgrades performed by Classic Showcase include:
• Major Service and Refreshment
• Installation of an Aluminum Radiator with a Spal electric fan
• Installation of a new Clutch Slave and Master Cylinders
• Installation of new Torsion Bars
• Rebuilt Carburetors
• Rebuilt Trailing Arm Bushings
• Installation of a Gear Reduction Starter
• New Exhaust System
Having had the privilege of servicing and upgrading this exceptional XKE over the years, we can confidently say it stands as an exceptionally well-maintained and thoughtfully enhanced example of Jaguar’s iconic Series 1 Coupe; and with a documented history, careful stewardship by a knowledgeable JCNA member & Judge, and key factory-approved upgrades, this E-Type is primed for both concours events, as well as cruising on your favorite roads and highways!
