This 1966 Jaguar XKE is a Series I coupe that was acquired by the selling dealer in 2020 as a partially refurbished project. Work under previous ownership is said to have included a repaint in Regency Red as well as overhauls of the 4.2-liter inline-six engine, four-speed manual transmission, suspension, and brakes. The interior was fitted with replacement bucket seats, the windshield was replaced, and 15″ Dunlop-style wheels were added by the selling dealer following their acquisition. The car is equipped with triple SU carburetors, four-wheel disc brakes, a stainless-steel exhaust system, and a Boman Monte Carlo AM/FM stereo. Work carried out over the past year has involved adjusting the ride height, repairing the shift mechanism, and replacing the speedometer cable, battery, voltage regulator, and fuel sending unit. This XKE is now offered with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, recent service records, a set of four 15″ wire wheels, and an Oregon title listing the car as a 1967 model.
The car was finished from the factory in Opalescent Golden Sand and was repainted in Regency Red under previous ownership, according to the selling dealer. The windshield and seal along with the front license plate bracket, pop-out rear quarter windows, and split bumpers with guards were replaced following the selling dealer’s acquisition. A louvered hood, a driver-side mirror, a side-opening rear hatch, and center-mounted exhaust outlets with chrome finishers are further details.
Aftermarket 15″ Dunlop-style wheels were installed by the selling dealer and are wrapped in 205/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The suspension and four-wheel disc brakes were reportedly overhauled under previous ownership. The ride height was adjusted in May 2023, and a set of four 15″ wire wheels are included in the sale.
The low-back bucket seats were installed by the selling dealer and are upholstered in black leather. Additional equipment includes a heater as well as a Boman Monte Carlo AM/FM stereo connected with aftermarket speakers. The horn was repaired and replacement pedal pads were installed in 2023.
The wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel wears a replacement horn pad and frames a 160-mph speedometer along with a tachometer featuring an inset clock. Auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level are located in the center of the dash. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 31k miles. The speedometer cable was replaced in May 2023, and total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was reportedly overhauled under previous ownership. It is equipped with triple SU side-draft carburetors as well as polished valve covers. Work carried out over the past year has included replacing the battery, voltage regulator, and fuel sending unit.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission that was refurbished under previous ownership, per the selling dealer. The shift mechanism was repaired and adjusted in May 2023.
