This 1966 Jaguar XKE is a Series I coupe that has been refinished in metallic blue over black vinyl and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes chrome 15″ wire wheels, covered headlights, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The seller acquired the car in 2019, reportedly from a shop in Folsom, California. Subsequent work included replacement of the tires, brakes, and exhaust outlets. This Series I coupe is offered with an owner’s manual, two tool kits, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car was repainted in 2018 according to the seller, reportedly in its original pale metallic blue. Equipment includes covered headlamps, chrome bumpers with overriders and guards, and a fender mirror on the driver’s side. The removed chrome trim for the rear window glass is included in the sale.
Chrome 15” wire wheels with two-eared knock-off nuts wear Vredestein tires that were reportedly mounted under current ownership. A matching spare is housed under the cargo area floor. New brakes are also said to have been installed in the last year.
The interior features black upholstery on the seats and dash accented by charcoal carpets and black rubber floor mats. Appointments include a wood-rimmed steering wheel, crank windows, a push-button radio, early-style toggle switches, and lap belts.
Smiths instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and centrally-located gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 89k miles, 300 of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six is equipped with three SU carburetors and can be seen idling in this video. The oil, filters, and spark plugs were reportedly changed in 2018, and the seller states that exhaust work took place in the last year.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The car is supplied with a jack, a knock-off hammer, and two tool kits as well as a leather pouch containing an owner’s manual.
