Current bid $2,700 reserve not met, 4 bids, 6 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
This is a numbers matching 1966 Series 1, 4.2 liter Jaguar XKE. It has been garage kept since my family bought it in 1976. Aside from the transport from North Carolina to Northern Virginia, and being photographed, it had not been outside the garage. The driver's door still has the sticker from its last oil change 3-29-1974. That car had not been driven since. The title is clear, and I am the fourth owner of the car. We have the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate to verify that this is a numbers matching car. The numbering used to collate the body parts to the car are still visible.

It does not run. Being sold as is for parts. This car comes with just about all its original parts, many more than are pictured. Original windshields and side windows in great condition. All body parts are original and numbered. It was a beautiful car and could be once again if someone wants a restoration project. The best holiday gift ever for that Jaguar fan.

Car has a buy it now price of $42,500 for 20 days. Car now said to be in Claremont, California. 73k miles.

    Sellers description:
1966 JAGUAR E-TYPE FIXED HEAD COUPE. 4.2 LITER, SERIES ONE. ORIG GOLDEN SAND/TAN. MATCHING NUMBERS. 4-SPEED. CHROME WIRE WHEELS.

KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS offers for sale, here on Ebay, a 1966 Jaguar E-type Coupe. It is a full matching numbers example and was originally produced in the highly attractive and desirable color scheme of Golden Sand with Tan trim. Although partially disassembled for restoration, it remains a very complete car with all parts being carefully bagged, catalogued, and boxed. It is also a highly original car, still retaining all of it's original glass, chrome, trim, etc. with some items still in very good overall condition. The only item not present is the original wiring harness, which was most likely discarded and to be replaced by a new one. The recorded mileage is a very believable 73,714 as shown on the speedometer.
The body on this car is unbelievably good and solid, being completely accident-free and rust-free, except for an area only around the battery box/front sill closing panel (caused by battery acid) and a small spot on the front of the LH wheelarch. The rocker panels, floors, jacking points, trailing arm areas, bonnet, and boot (trunk) floor are all perfectly rustfree. The dipped portion of the front floors have sustained some dents from the underside but are easily repairable. Some inner bonnet sheetmetal parts have been removed during the disassembly, but are present. All of the body panels are original to the car and fit well. The front subframes, picture frame, and bonnet subframe are all excellent. The engine compartment and interior still show the original paint. The car has had only one inexpensive respray in a bronze metallic hue. There are a few minor dents on the LH rear fender. There are still some factory chalk marks on some panels. The monocoque, bonnet and subframes overall are exceptionally good and straight, this car being very well-preserved. PLEASE NOTE, there is some orange-colored dirt on the car's underside that may appear like rust. The undercarriage on this car is perfectly solid.
The engine in the car does turn, but no attempt has been made to start it. The car rolls and steers fine. A few engine items have been removed but are present with the car. The car itself appears highly original and the drivetrain most likely has never been removed. All mechanical components match the original data plate.
The interior trim is still the original. The door panels are in great condition. The original seats are good overall. The car still retains all of it's original chrome trim, Triplex glass, dashboard and gauges, etc. as seen by the photos. The radio console has an original Motorola unit installed. The car still has it's original seat belts with the Jaguar logo.
Overall, this is an exceptionally nice, very desirable 4.2 Liter Series One E-type Coupe for easy, straightforward restoration. It is a highly original, matching numbers car with an excellent body and an attractive factory color scheme. Please take into account the restoration expenses that will be saved, starting with such a great car ! This E-type offers great investment potential at this point in the market. It's a perfect restoration candidate with good financial reward. This car is located in Southern California and can be viewed by appointment. It is sold with a clear title.

Car to be at auction 8/19

    worldwideauctioneers.com/auctions/car-details/index.php&rid=37

    Auction description:

    Lot 30

    1966 Jaguar 'Series I' E-Type Coupe

    CHASSIS NO: 1E32376

    • Full, complete and authentic restoration by David Ferguson of Images Autobody

    • Numbers matching example

    • Finished in lovely Golden Sand

    • Driven only 900 miles since completed

    • Accompanied by Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate

Offered here is an E-Type that has achieved a superior level of authenticity with regard to how an E-Type should appear. Finished in Golden Sand, this 1966 Jaguar Coupe has been fully restored to like-new condition with a level of detail that is seldom found in any restoration. The refurbishment involved disassembly of literally every nut and bolt, which was then painstakingly researched to determine its proper appearance and then reassembled according to factory specifications. This means that all components were properly plated or painted according to how they looked when they left the factory. Starting at the front this E-Type carries the quintessential British sports car front end design with its elongated oval air intake, glass covered headlamps, wraparound bumper, and the menacing bulge down the centerline of the hood. The expert craftsmanship and attention to detail in this Jaguar’s restoration is clearly evident in the perfectly aligned body seams and its flawless paint that is clear and consistent across all body panels. At the rear of this coupe is the commanding stance of a true GT car, with its graceful roofline that extends all the way to the rear of the car. The restoration of this Jaguar involved taking it down to bare metal and refinishing it to the highest standards. Along the way a few sensible upgrades were made to the brakes and cooling system in order to improve its safety and reliability standards. It was finished in the summer of 2018 and has since been driven about 900 miles for testing. The interior has also received the same attention to detail with new leather in beige and all trim and fasteners correct and nicely polished. The GT experience comes alive with a beautiful wood steering wheel in a cabin that is nicely laid out and provides the driver and passenger a bright and comfortable feel with its expansive use of glass. The caliber of this E-Type’s restoration is also evident in the engine compartment where its famous twin-cam six is perfectly replicated from the factory with all wiring and hoses properly sorted. Its three SU carburetors are beautifully polished making the entire engine compartment look like a work of art. This E-Type rides on chrome Jaguar wire rims with blackwall tires that complete the look of this fine GT car. All numbers match on this example and it also comes with the factory tool kit and Jaguar Heritage Certificate.

The attention to detail in returning a motorcar to its exact factory standards is certainly a difficult task, but through painstaking research and superior craftsmanship, this E-Type looks just as it did when it left the factory. There are not many cars that achieve this level of perfection and this E-Type is a car that stands alone as one of the very best in its class.

Car now offered in Issaquah, Washington at:

    www.nweuro.com/1966-jaguar-xke-coupe

    Seller's description:

    Exceptional Restoration to High Standards

    Matching Numbers Example

Desirable Series 1 with 4.2 Liter Engine

    Lovely Color Combination

Fitted With Air Conditioning For Touring

    VIN - 1E32376

    Engine – 4.2L, 6 Cylinder

    Gearbox – 4 Speed Manual

    Drivetrain - Front Engine, RWD

This Series 1 XKE Coupe is supported by a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate confirming the chassis and engine number along with the original colors when delivered new. Assembled December 15, 1965, this XKE departed the factory January 7, 1966, finished in Opalescent Golden Sand, and trimmed with light tan interior. The car was delivered to Jaguar Cars, New York and subsequently sold to the first owner in North America. In more recent years, this XKE has benefitted from a high-quality restoration which thoughtfully covered every aspect of the car both cosmetically and mechanically.

The finished car has covered just 1,800 miles since the restoration was completed. In addition to the accuracy of the restoration, this Jaguar has been discretely updated with a modern AC system cleverly engineered into the lower forward portion of the engine compartment. Beyond the AC system, the car has been fitted with adjustable shocks to aid in dialing in the suspension, along with twin cooling fans (one automatic, one toggle switched), all in terms of making it a great touring example.. Since the restoration was completed, this XKE has been regularly serviced by Jaguar specialists including changing fluids, checking operational systems, and professional detailing to preserve the quality of restoration.

Offered in desirable colors and reflective of exceptional restoration by Images Autobody of Southern California, the current condition is excellent throughout. The paint finish is glossy, smooth, and the metal flake concentration is perfectly suited to the elegant body lines. Chrome trim, stainless front fender lines, windshield surround, front fender mounted Talbot bullet mirror, and the distinctive enclosed headlights are all in excellent condition. The body panels exhibit beautiful shut lines and tight closure for the doors, trunk, and forward hinged bonnet. Fitted with wire wheels, dual ear knockoffs, and modern Michelin tires, the stance is spot-on, slightly hunkered down, ready to pounce. Importantly, while many restorations are often trailered to shows and displayed as static objects of art, this XKE has been proven over 1,800 miles since the restoration was completed, making it a beautiful example that can be confidently driven on a Jaguar rally and present the next day or judging at a regional concours.

The interior is in excellent condition having been both thoughtfully and expertly retrimmed with correct leather, proper piping and padding, excellent quality carpet, and a beautifully finished dashboard. The bold instrumentation is clear and contrasting with excellent nomenclature and matching finishes, fronted by a warm wood rimmed steering wheel. The center console features two adjustable air vents which allow for cool, conditioned air to fill the cockpit – a welcomed feature especially for warmer climate driving. The rear storage area is properly trimmed as well with matching materials and houses a full-sized spare tire in the under-floor storage well. Fit and finish throughout the interior once again is among the finest one will find in any road-going XKE.

The engine compartment is beautifully composed in appearance and detail with the factory components prepared as originally intended including correct finishes applied to the triangular hammer-tone triple carburetor air box, gloss black breather canister, polished cam covers, and polished SU carburetors. The original engine block is in place and matches the twin-cam head stamping located at the forward portion of the cam-valley. Both the engine and head are stamped with the number ending in “9” indicating the more desirable higher compression series engine. Correct engine components and hardware complete the engine bay including an updated Optima battery and modern air conditioning. The “picture frame” forward chassis structure (integral to the front suspension) is stamped with the same chassis number shown on the aluminum factory chassis plate indicating matching numbers for both the engine and chassis. As one might expect, the undercarriage is in excellent condition, with correct finishes and components in keeping with the overall restoration quality of this XKE. The overall integrity of the body seams and joinery is very nice and further speaks to the originality of this XKE.

In addition to the beautiful cosmetic presentation, this XKE runs and drives very well. Carburetor and engine adjustments have been performed as needed in keeping with high standards achieved with the restoration. The engine provides ample power and torque and pulls strong in all gears. The car tracks very well benefitting from modern radial tires, delivering a smooth ride when casually motoring or at speed on the highway.

Jaguar E-Types continue to be sought after for their legendary beauty and performance. Series I cars with 4.2 engines uniquely offer the best combination of superb driving manners combined with the original pure and timelessly elegant body design – a delightful reminder of XKE excellence particularly so given the most recent changes offered in the newly revised Jaguar brand.

Combining great colors, a superb professional restoration, and thoughtfully upgraded with air conditioning, this stunning Jaguar XKE is sure to capture the heart of any motoring enthusiast seeking the very best in nostalgic sports car design and performance.

Hi, I have the original, completed warranty card and service book stamped up to 1970 and 47,418 miles for this E Type. They came in a bundle of documents I purchased to complete the book pack for my own S1. The current owner does not want them, but if a subsequent owner does please get in touch - I’ll keep them safe as it’d be a shame to throw them away.
