Ebay item 7/18/15

www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-/231625358575

Current bid US $16,300 reserve not met 3 bids 4 days left in auction, De Pere, Wisconsin

Sellers description:

This car has been in storage for the last 15 years. It was repainted in the 80's and the paint job is starting to show it's age. I believe this car was originally from Mississippi, by the sticker on it, but it spent the last 30 years in Wisconsin. The car has a few small rust spots. The upholstery is in very nice shape. Odo shows 63,000 miles but can't guarantee that it's accurate. The car, looking at it, sits very even with a good posture. The car has a new battery but the fluids have not been changed including the fuel. Turns over nicely and the lights work. It is up to the new buyer to bring it up to driving condition. The car ran very well when it was put in storage. The radio is not original.

Car to be at auction 6/23

Sale Le Mans Classic 2023 - 30 june 2023 /Lot 115 1965 Jaguar Type E 4,2L coupé

Auction description:

French title

Chassis n° 1E31418

Engine n° 7E5004-9

- High-quality documented restoration work

- Elegant colour combination

- Original engine

According to the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, this 4.2-litre E-Type Series I coupé left the factory on 14 July 1965, with left-hand drive, a manual gearbox and in an "Opalescent Maroon" colour with beige interior. It was delivered on 10 August 1965 to Jaguar Cars in New York (USA), for its first owner, Josephine Finkeleter.

In spring 2016, it was purchased by its current owner, having only recently been imported into France. It was complete, in its original condition, and our collector, who wanted a car that was beyond reproach, decided to have it completely restored, irrespective of cost. The work took three years and cost almost 120,000 euros, as the file of invoices accompanying the car shows.

It was completely dismantled, the bodywork stripped, repaired and painted in an elegant shade of grey (reminiscent of Warwick Grey). The mechanics have been completely overhauled and a large number of parts have been replaced when it was not possible to restore them, such as the drive shaft for instance. Nothing has been left to chance, and the work has also involved the passenger compartment: the upholstery has been completely replaced, with beautiful red leather covering the seats, the transmission tunnel and the door panels. Interested buyers are invited to consult the extensive file of invoices and photos relating to the restoration.

This E-Type with its original 4.2-litre engine is now in impeccable condition; a tribute to its spectacular design. The car has only covered a few thousand kilometres since its restoration, and our collector, who lives abroad, is selling it due to lack of use. This serves as an example of the purity of the original design, while offering excellent driving pleasure.

Almost €120,000 worth of restoration work

Estimation 100 000 - 140 000 €

Lot 115
