Jaguar E Type Series 1 Coupe. This is a beautiful example of one of the great sports cars from the last century. The car has undergone some restoration work whilst retaining its authenticity. It has been repainted in the original Carmen Red, the interior is in the original trim retaining the patina and smell we all love, the sporty colour scheme is perfect for this coupe. The car is not pristine but is perfectly healthy with traces of use and some nice details confirming its authenticity such as the original laminate sticker on the front windscreen, and the original reversing light.

Under the bonnet is a 4.2 litre straight six engine fed by triple SU carburettors coupled to a 4 speed manual transmission. Manufactured on 8th July 1965 this Series 1 Coupe was delivered new to Belgium where it stayed for several years. With the second and third owners, the car moved to the Netherlands. This lovely E Type is matching numbers. It has been used for weekends and longer road trips. The car drives well and the rich history file shows thorough and careful maintenance by the previous owners. A Jaguar Heritage certificate is present. Overall a nice classic and a timeless sports car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
