This E-Type Fixed Head Coupe, chassis 1E 30799, was completed on 4 March 1965 and distributed in the United States through Jaguar Cars, New York. It was originally finished in Opalescent Silver Blue over a Dark Blue interior.
Acquired by the consignor in 2014, it was soon sent to Georgia-based marque specialist Richard Jenkins for a mechanical restoration. The car retains its numbers-matching engine per the accompanying Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate; it was, like every other major mechanical component of the car, overhauled during the restoration, and it is now fitted with a big-bore exhaust system with stainless steel heaters. Its transmission has been upgraded to a Tremec five-speed manual unit for enhanced drivability. Further upgrades include wider wire wheels (now six inches wide, versus the factory five inches), Wilwood brakes, and an aluminum radiator with improved cooling fan.
After enjoying the mechanically perfected car for a time, the consignor decided to undertake a cosmetic restoration as well. It is now finished in Willow Green; this lovely exterior color pairs spectacularly with its tobacco leather interior, with upholstery work undertaken by Gran Turismo of Los Angeles. Finally, a retro-look modern audio system with Bluetooth connectivity has been seamlessly integrated into the cabin. Since this recently completed repaint and interior retrim, the car has seen only limited mileage.
This stunningly restored Series 1 4.2-Litre, however, complete with a slate of well-considered improvements and accompanied by documentation of its restoration and a tool roll, makes a very compelling case for the latter.

This 1965 Jaguar XKE is a Series 1 coupe that was built on March 4, 1965, and distributed via Jaguar Cars of New York. It was acquired by the current owner in 2014 and was subsequently refurbished by marque specialist Richard Jenkins in Georgia. The car is finished in Willow Green over tobacco leather upholstery, and power comes from a numbers-matching 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Features include triple SU carburetors, an aluminum radiator, stainless steel headers, a big-bore exhaust system, Wilwood disc brakes, 15×6″ wire wheels, and a retro-look Bluetooth radio. This XKE is now offered on behalf of the current owner with a tool kit, a jack, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, refurbishment records and photos, and a Montana title.
The car was finished in dark blue before a repaint was performed in its current Willow Green under current ownership. Features include glass headlight covers, a retractable antenna, a driver-side mirror, 1965 Montana license plates, and chrome bumpers and trim.
The 15×6″ wire wheels feature knock-off hubs and are mounted with 205/70 Kumho Solus KH16 tires. A matching spare wheel is mounted under the rear cargo floor. The car features independent suspension at all four corners as well as Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with inboard rear rotors.
The seats were reupholstered in tobacco leather with matching door panels and a center console by Gran Turismo of Los Angeles, California, under current ownership. Features include a retro-look Bluetooth stereo, lap belts, and manual crank windows.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline. Gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows just under 31k miles, 4k of which were added during current ownership. The seller estimates that 300 miles have been added since the completion of the refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec five-speed manual transmission.
The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque and was rebuilt by Richard Jenkins in 2014. Features include triple SU carburetors, stainless steel headers, and a big-bore exhaust system.
Cylinder stamping number 7E3130-9 is shown above and matches the number listed on the engine block, underhood identification plate, and the Jaguar Heritage certificate. The Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust certificate shows factory colors, identification numbers, and a build date of March 4, 1965.
