Dear owner
Please contact me, I am restoring 1E30400 and need information on the design of the spacers that are attached to the boot boards to make them level. Of all the things that I have run up against in this restoration, this has been the most fustrating thing to get verified. My phone number is (909) 798-6550, my email is above. Your car appears to be restored (or well kept) in excellent original condition; I wish mine to be the same.

Lot #96887
This 1965 Jaguar XKE is a Series I coupe that was produced in December 1964 and distributed new through Jaguar Cars of New York in January 1965. Finished in Opalescent Golden Sand over a blue interior, the car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes triple SU side-draft carburetors, covered headlights, chrome wire wheels, and a Blaupunkt radio. A refurbishment was conducted in the early 2000s under prior ownership, and the fuel and cooling systems were serviced following the selling dealer’s acquisition out of Indiana in June 2022. This Series I XKE coupe is now offered in Missouri with a tool kit, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate, and a clean Indiana title.
The body is said to have been refinished in Opalescent Golden Sand under prior ownership. Features include recessed headlights with clear covers, split chrome bumpers with guards, a vented forward-hinged hood, a sloping roofline with a side-opening hatch, and taillights mounted above the rear bumpers. The bumpers, headlight and taillight bezels, wiper arms, and door hardware were re-chromed by the seller, who notes a paint correction was performed in preparation for the sale.
Chrome 15” center-spline wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-offs and wear Avon tires. A matching spare combination is stored in the rear compartment, and braking is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with the rear units situated inboard.
Interior finishes include replacement blue leather upholstery on the seats accompanied by matching treatments for the center console and door panels and chrome hardware re-chromed by the seller. A Blaupunkt push-button radio is linked to speakers on either side of the center stack, and additional equipment includes a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a cabin heater, and manually operated windows.
Smiths instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 77k miles.
The rebuilt twin-cam 4.2L inline-six features a trio of SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. A general inspection, tuning of the carburetors, and overhaul of the fuel and cooling systems were completed in preparation for the sale.
Cylinder-head stamping 7E1869-9 matches the engine block stamp as well as the engine number noted on the chassis identification plate and on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
The 2022 Production Record Trace certificate lists the factory colors and identification numbers along with the build date and distribution through Jaguar Cars of New York.
The car’s serial number 1E30310 is shown above. The Indiana title lists the car’s identification number as J651E30310.
