A wonderful example of what many believe the most-influential and iconic sports car ever produced, this 1965 Jaguar XKE 4.2-liter Series I Coupe is a frame-off restoration with the engine rebuilt by XK's Unlimited. The interior upholstery is handcrafted, unlike the vast majority, lending a further touch of distinction to this legendary race-bred road car. In addition to its outstandingly beautiful lines, it remains one of the most enjoyable and best-performing sports cars ever conceived.

For sale at Koch Klassik of Heilbronn for 165,000 euros. Amended seller's description below.

1965 4.2 Fixed Head Coupe Series 1. This is certainly one of the most sought after classic cars. It reminds me of the novels of the legendary Jerry Cotton who drove this type of red coupe - then, like today a dream car! The car has been completely restored and is almost perfect, literally taking it to better than new. A car that is over 50 years old with air conditioning, a standard for us spoiled consumers that was then an absolute luxury. The current owner is 91 years young and had power steering installed; this makes the car easily manageable and will appeal to the girls. A convertible is a convertible but essentially a coupe is nicer and with air conditioning, ideal. A car for touring - when are you going to travel?
