Seller's description:

1968 E type Jaguar 4.2 Litre Series 1.5 FHC

Chassis Number: 1E 21955

Registration Number: 594HUV Originally: SYC139F

An absolutely mint concours car that was subject to a painstaking 2000 hour 7 year restoration. If you are looking for a perfect e type go & see some of the lesser examples prior to coming to see this one as it is absolutelly faultless & a credit to the current owner who now approaching 80 years old is now ready to relinquish it to the next lucky owner. It is essential to come & see this car to appreciate how well done this car is with incredible attention to the details. The body was lead loaded during paint preparation etc. The car is equaly good underneath as it is on top.

During the build which is photographically recorded the following upgrades were done with a view to making the car more modern day useable:

594 HUV. Upgrades

5 speed Tremec Gearbox (Original existing 4 speed box included)

123 Electronic ignition

Switchable Electric power steering

Zeus Brake upgrade 4 pot calipers front standard rear

Braided steel front and rear brake pipes

Limited slip diff

S/S exhaust system included multi branch manifold

Hi Torc starter motor

Spin off cartridge oil filter

Braided steel camshaft oil feed pipes

MWS wire wheels with Dunlop tubelless tyres

IPod radio connection

Alarm

Fuel isolation switch

The car is finisehd in flawless two pack Glasurite paint in its original colour of Carmen red. During the restoration process the car body was liberally waxoyled in all the hidden out of reach cavities with a view to wards future preservation of the body. Increible attention to detail was gone to including aligining the cars running to milimetre straight perfection records of which come with the car. Weeks were spent on the panel gaps aligining them to perfection so the doors shut perfectly with just a light nudge. The interior is of course brand new also & done to the highest of standards.

Since restoration some 12,000 trouble free miles have been covered in the car. It starts instantly & the fully rebuilt engine runs beautifully. The modern 5 speed Tremec gear box is a delight to use & transforms the driving experience.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
