As reported in Sports Car Market:
"Only 383 miles since full resto, with authenticating bills and photos on file. Webasto sunroof. Hood section renewed, along with many other items, though not by any well-known specialists. Cosmetically sharp."

Additional info from the above auction listing:
As confirmed by a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust `Production Record Trace Certificate' in a very well stocked documents folder, this E Type Series I 4.2-litre coupe - a righthand drive fixed head finished in black with beige interior and manual transmission - first left the Browns Lane factory in Coventry 26 October 1965, being supplied to distributor Attwoods Garages Limited of Wolverhampton.
The original chassis and body, numbers 1E 21051 and 4E 23118 respectively, are still present, though a Jaguar factory replacement engine number 7E 8504-9 replaced 7E 6370-9 during a major rebuild carried out following the acquisition of car and motor by a professional motor engineer in 2002. The vehicle had been in storage and unused since 1977, before which it is believed to have had only one Oxfordshire-based owner.
The restorer's intention was to create a vehicle as near as brand new as possible. We understand that once the bodyshell had been stripped, very little corrosion was found, panels such as the bonnet being replaced as necessary and the front subframe renewed. Although unused, the replacement motor had been in storage for some time, so it was stripped down and checked out. All other mechanical items were also dismantled and checked for wear, being rebuilt or replaced as necessary.
As you will see for yourself today, the shut-lines are uniformly correct and the black paintwork has been finished to the highest standard. The interior has also been retrimmed in beige leather to the original specification and the Webasto sunroof fabric replaced. Most of the chromework, including the wire wheels, has been renewed. Much time consuming and costly work has been invested in achieving a very high standard of restoration.
In addition to invoices substantiating much of the expenditure incurred, the history file also contains a photographic record of the renovation as well as V5 registration document and aforementioned Heritage dating certificate. The MOT and tax disc on HKH 181C today will not need renewing until next May.. While the 63,500 miles displayed when entered for the sale - only 500 of them being driven since restoration - is claimed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage for what can only be described as a better than new and quite exceptional E Type fixed head.

M.O.T APRIL 2007
According to an accompanying Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate, 'HKH 181C' was despatched by the Browns Lane factory on 26th October 1965. A home market Series I Fixed Head Coupe equipped with all-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission, it was supplied new via distributor Attwoods Garages of Wolverhampton. Believed to have had just one Oxfordshire-based custodian prior to being laid-up in 1977, the Big Cat was rescued from long-term storage by its previous keeper some twenty-five years later. A professional motor engineer, he subsequently set about a methodical and exacting rebuild to better than new standards. Stripped of what little corrosion it had suffered during hibernation, the original body (no. 4E 23118) was allied to a renewed front subframe and new bonnet. Adhering to a counsel of perfection, the factory-fitted powerplant (no. 7E 6370-9) was replaced with a contemporaneous 'mothballed' unit (no. 7E 8504-9). Though, like the other mechanical components it was stripped down and thoroughly checked over prior to installation. Treated to much new chromework (including wire wheels), the E-type was refinished in its initial livery of gloss black with beige leather upholstery. Believed to have covered just 68,000 miles from new (but only 5,000 since work was completed), this truly remarkable Jaguar is judged by the vendor to be in "as new" overall condition. Sporting a Webasto fabric sunroof, 'HKH 181C' is offered for sale with history file, photographic restoration record and MOT certificate / historic class (free) road tax valid until April 2007.
