Car is just completing a full ground up, frame-off restoration in original colors, Willow Green with Black interior. New convertible top being fitted and installed next week and a few minor finishing touches and will be completed. Pictures will be taken when totally finished.

NOTE: Enclosed photos were taken about ten years ago, before restoration,

Car is superb, better than when new. Body is straighter and smoother than factory. Panels fit with precision, all seams fit with flawless even gaps. Car was completely dismantled and body was taken down to bare metal, then worked by a highly skilled coachmaker (SHOW CAR RESTORATION, California). It is perfect with not a speck of rust or bondo.

Matching Numbers.

Car now has retrofitted closed headlight hooh, triple SU carbs, two-eared spinners wire wheels, making it very close to Series 1.

Includes rare original factory removable black hardtop fully restored with all original chrome complete and intact.

All mechanical work performed by well-known, highly regarded STEVE'S JAGUAR of California. Total engine rebuild including triple SU retrofit. All mechanical systems rebuilt. Custom fabricated upgraded heavy duty disk brakes for greater stopping effectiveness. Highest quality stainless steel exhaust system. Suspension upgraded. Much more... Everything works and car runs perfectly.

BACKGROUND HISTORY/PROVENANCE: Genuine California car was purchased new from PETER SATORI MOTORS in Pasadena, California and has never left the state. Has original California blue plate. Includes ORIGINAL DEALER SALES INVOICE and paperwork plus original owner’s manual in factory pouch. I have owned the car for 14 years and am located in North Hollywood, California, a mere 20 miles from the location where the car was purchased originally when new.

Car is for sale.

Restoration is Complete! Car is now ready FOR SALE!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
I am stating, with full confidence, the fact that this car has one of the finest body and paint work that you will ever see on an E-Type. You can look at any number of restored examples and very few will compare to the quality, fit and finish of this car. The most important element of any restoration is the body work. This one is the best of the best.

I have had several Jaguar professionals inspect the car so that I could get objective opinions as to the quality of the work and market value. These men have years of experience making their living working on, restoring and/or selling Jaguars. None had ever worked on my car and had no vested interest in it.

Each viewed the car individually, separate from the others. All 3 were unanimous in their high praise of the truly impressive superiority of the body. Everything from the perfect fit, exact spacing of all gaps, flawless smooth as glass sheet metal, the expert paint work.

Running their fingers along the edges of the trunk and feeling the perfectly even height of the lid and the panels, remarking that they almost never see cars with flush mounted trunks, usually finding the lid slightly raised above the panels.

The hood (bonnet) with enclosed headlights that we purchased from the factoryto replace the hood with open headlights and the skill and work that it took to fit flawlessly and smooth as glass. They asked my body man wanting to know what he did to overcome the common challenges that usually result in imperfect fittings.

My body man is a true artist and his gifted skills in coach building as well as possessing an amazing eye for details that never get by him is the secret. It's not just the hours put into the project, it's what he can do during those hours.

This car was restored with one plan in mind. I wanted the best of the various features to make the car as beautiful as a Series 1. Notice the tail lights and front parking lights are the earlier delicate and elegant classic design situated above the bumpers. This is fortunately how they came from the factory before the change to the less attractive block-like lights that came soon afterwards.

The car exterior is for all intents and purposes a Series 1, including the twin eared knockoffs. The engine has been completely rebuilt and retrofitted to Series 1 three SU carbs, and polished valve covers.

The interior is the first of the Series 1 1/2 changes with rocker switches. All upholstery, carpeting, and coverings are brand new. This is a more comfortable and user-friendly interior. The car looks like a new car and even has that new car smell. Convertible top is also brand new and gorgeous.

NOTE: The car has been restored to like-new condition. It is stunning! I wanted the best car, not a trailer queen for winning points at shows. If you are looking only for totally original point getters, this is not the car for you. Otherwise, anyone else who wants a superb fantastic E-Type to own, drive, and cherish as you turn heads of all who see it, then THIS IS THE CAR FOR YOU!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
