Advertised for sale on carsales.com.au 15 September 2023 asking AU$305,000. Car is in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Seller’s description (edited) follows:

Original right hand drive, matching numbers, E-type first registered in Northern Ireland. The original Northern Ireland registration document and number plate IA48 are still with the car. Registration document shows details of each year of registration plus MOTs, until the first owner sold the car in 1983. The car was then exported from Northern Ireland to South Africa where it remained with the second owner for almost 40 years.  Both owner names are documented. The car was then exported to Melbourne, Australia and put in storage as part of a collection.

Sympathetic professional restoration was carried out about 8 years ago with care taken to retain originality such as original factory leather.  The car has had little use since. Mileage of 35,757 is believed to be correct based on documented history that comes with the car. The original jack, toolkit, owner’s manual and many historical documents and photos accompany the car.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
