The following is an edited version of the lengthy description and sales spiel on littledoggarage.com as at 2nd June 2013:

In 2002 1E16044 was at Jack Laswell's J. L. Enterprises. It was in pieces but the body had been completely reworked and dipped and was in superb condition. The Rear suspension and transmission had been rebuilt, and there was a new steering wheel and many other new parts waiting to be installed. I was told the car was a one owner out of Missouri that had been inherited by a customer who wanted the car restored to better than new. I saw the car from time to time over the years but in June of 2009 Jack Laswell asked if I'd be interested in buying it. The customer had apparently lost interest and the car had been gathering dust. I bought it for approximately past labor and storage charges. I also found out that the car had only travelled a verifiable 34,000 miles (now 35,000).

Soon after, we began a Rotisserie restoration which took over three years. The end result is a car with a restored body and mechanicals but with the character that comes from retaining as many of the original parts as possible as long as they are attractive and functional.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
