Offered here from the Bill and Linda Feldhorn Collection is their desirable Series 1½ example, benefitting from decades of no-expense-spared restoration work by Jaguar specialists. According to the Jaguar-issued Heritage Certificate on file, this E-Type was completed at the Coventry Jaguar factory in June of 1967 as a fully evolved Series 1 Roadster example equipped as a left-hand drive, finished in Pale Primrose Yellow over a Black Connolly leather interior for the U.S.-Market. The first owner was U.S. Marine Corps Captain Alan C. Mullaney, who would take delivery of the new Jaguar at his San Clemente, California military base, offering the perfect mild weather and scenic Southern California coastal roads for his new desirable open-top sportscar.
The E-Type was acquired by the previous owner, Mr. William Arthur of Oxnard, California in 1976, with whom the Jaguar would remain until acquired by the Feldhorns in 2008. During Arthur's 32-year-long devoted ownership, he would treat the Jaguar to a nut-and-bolt restoration, commencing in the late 1990s and completed during the mid-2000s. Restoration and parts receipts can be found in the inch-thick history file accompanying the Jaguar, totaling more than $40,000 in parts and specialty work, not including Mr. Arthur's own work. Parts were sourced from the Jaguar specialists at XKs Unlimited, whom would also be entrusted with rebuilding the original engine and cylinder head, with tasteful performance upgrades carried out such as carefully porting the cylinder head for better flow. The suspension, braking, and electrical systems were also attended too, as were cosmetic parts of the car such as chrome, brightwork and interior.
During the Feldhorn's 15-year tenure with the E-Type, the car Jaguar has received further restoration and maintenance to the tune of approximately $50,000, and receipts of this professional work can be found in the history file. Steve's Jaguar Service in Canoga Park, California has been entrusted with much of the mechanical work performed, while Hot Rods and Hobbies of Signal Hill carried out a full repaint of the solid original bodywork 2018. Equipped with tasteful performance tweaks such as five-speed full-synchro transmission and upgraded suspension and brakes, this is indeed a healthy performing E-Type, as has been demonstrated on the many tours and 1,000-mile rallies where the Feldhorns have stretched its legs over the years. Offered with the aforementioned impressive restoration file, owner's manual, tool roll, and Heritage Certificate documenting the car retains its original engine block and head, this striking, well-performing E-Type benefits from decades of devoted, no-expense-spared ownership, in addition to the mild California climate where it was delivered to new.

This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was initially dispatched on July 4, 1967, and distributed via Jaguar Cars of New York. Initially purchased out of California, the car would spend most of its time in the state, and beginning in the 1970s remained for more than three decades with a single owner, who commissioned a multi-year refurbishment that was completed in the mid-2000s. Work completed under subsequent ownership involved a repaint in red and the installation of a five-speed manual gearbox that is paired with a 4.2-liter inline-six fitted with triple SU carburetors. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, uncovered headlights, 15″ wire-spoke wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Pioneer CD player linked to aftermarket speakers. Acquired by the current owner in 2024, this XKE Series I roadster is now offered in Arizona on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, the owner’s manual, service records, and a clean Oregon title.
Finished from the factory in Pale Primrose Yellow, this example was repainted red in 2018. It has a black soft top, uncovered headlights, and chrome bumpers.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with Pirelli tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors and stainless-steel lines. Suspension components include Koni dampers, polyurethane bushings, and a revised sway bar and torsion bars.
The cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in black leather that extends to the door panels and center console. Interior appointments include black dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, and a Pioneer CD player linked to aftermarket speakers.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 92k miles, approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was overhauled during the refurbishment and again circa 2010. It is fitted with replacement bearings and camshafts as well as an aluminum radiator, stainless-steel headers, and an electric fan. Work in 2023 included replacing the water pump and battery along with rebuilding the carburetors. Photos of compression readings are included in the gallery below.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox that was installed in 2012.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
Photos showing stages of the repaint as well as refurbishment records are included in the sale.
