Ebay item 11/2/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-convertible-1967-Jaguar-XKE-E-Type-Roadste ...
Current bid $24,999.00 (Reserve met), 1 bid, 5 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1967 E Type roadster (race car)
Car # 1E 15722
This auction is for an authentic E Type roadster, complete with clear title and its original data plate. One glance at the photographs and you will see that the car is in the process of being transformed into what could be the ultimate E Type racer. A great deal of work has already been done and the sale also includes a vast list of new and rebuilt components.

I had planned on taking this car vintage racing in the HSR series, although I have now decided to redirect my efforts and funds towards the restoration of some of my road going cars.

What has been done so far:
The monocoque was plastic media blasted back to bare metal before receiving new floors, inner and outer sills, etc. A serious SCCA roll cage was welded into place and then the entire sub-structure was powder coated white. Next came a hand laid (white gel coated) carbon fiber and Kevlar bonnet (weighing just 35 lbs) with a matching featherweight bootlid made from the same material. Seriously wide fiberglass rear wings (designed to accept 10 inch wide rims) were then made and installed, and a cool, machine turned dash was fabricated with matching overlay for the engine bay firewall.

A boot floor, a pair of door skins and a removable passenger side tonneau cover were then skillfully fabricated in aluminium, and a special racing front cowl was also made and installed. A wide transmission tunnel was fabricated (again in aluminium) and installed. Incidentally, the trans tunnel is capacious enough to accept just about any transmission, from a Jerico to a CJ5. All of this work was done to the highest of standards by my friends Wavy Hinton and Larry Ligas at Predator Racing in Florida. In case you don’t know, Predator are without question the nation’s most respected builder of racing E Types.

Another friend, E Type racer Trent Terry (Terrys Jaguar Parts in Benton, Illinois), modified my front uprights to accept the massive Wilwood brake calipers and Coleman rotors that you see in the photographs. We then went ahead and bought the best of everything for the car, including race seat, custom (500 HP rated) radiator by Ron Davis, custom, uprated, thicker wall Team CJ racing engine frames, fuel cell, etc, etc, etc. Check out the list below of all the various items that are included with the car.

This sale includes a core 4.2 Jaguar engine, a core Jaguar 4 speed synchro transmission, and a core posi differential. These items will all have to be rebuilt.

This is basically a top of the range E Type racer in component form! You are obviously going to have to buy certain items which are not included in the sale, such as gauges, carbs, etc, and the car will require a certain amount of labor to finish, although a great deal of the hard and expensive work has already been done. Please note, if you don’t see it in the photographs, or it is not mentioned in the list below, then it is not going to be included in the sale.

As you might imagine, I have a small fortune invested in this car and project to date. Having said that, I am a realist and I have set my reserve way below my cost. This is an almost unique opportunity to obtain an E Type race car package at a fraction of its true worth.

This car belongs to me. It is sold free and clear of any liens or other encumbrances. It is sold strictly AS IS, WHERE IS, with no warranty of any kind being offered by the seller. This car is sold FOB Classic Jaguar in Austin, Texas. Please do not request the reserve price, I am not going to divulge it. Thank you.
