Ebay item 7/8/12

Current bid $26,600 reserve not met, 15 bids 2 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1967 Jaguar E Type Roadster

This is a very early Jaguar E Roadster version 1.5 As you can see from the pictures, there are only a few particular differences from version 1 I did some research and I believe this car is a April/May 1967 model.

Overall condition of the car is good and presentable, exterior and interior. The car was fully restored in 1984 by the previous owner. The car was used for 3 years and then kept in storage. The car runs and drives and has manual transmission. The chrome in good condition, soft top opens and closes well and canvas roof is in good condition with clear plastic rear window. Also hard top is included in the auction ( only this cost me $3000 between cost and shipping). The interior is still in good condition. The top dashboard is in good condition with no cracks. The front dashboard as you can see in the picture, the previous owner covered it with plastic wood-like decal ( this can easily be romoved and refurbished to original ). Most of the guages work, all electrical system work. 1 rear right light , 1 license plate light , and 1 front right small light do not work. I haven't had time to check, it may just be a fuse or bulb problem. The exterior paint is presentable but shows sign of age such as scratch and few small points of paint crack but flaws not visible at more than approximately 8 feet away. As you can see the exterior color is light blue but I belive it was originally red burgundy. The undercarriage is solid but shows some sign of repair that was done during the old restoration. The engine block is original, the engine head I'm not sure. The odometer shows 73628 miles ( due to the age of the car and history, I can't confirm the odometer reading). The tires are okay but I think they should be changed because they are too old. Spare tire is inclued. All windows and doors open and close properly. Interior carpet in good and clean condition.

I bought this car about 5 years ago with the intent to do a full restoration, but I only got as far as to get the car to run so I can enjoy short rides locally. I had the gas tank cleaned professionally inside and outside. I cleaned the fuel line, I spent about $1200 to rebuild the carburetor. I put new down pipe muffler, put 2 chrome new pipes (last parts of the muffler), many other new miscellaneous parts.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
