Current bid $29,000, no reserve, 1 bid, 6 days left in the auction. Suspect the bonnet is either not original or has been retrofitted for the closed headlights. Factory records say that open headlights were installed beginning nearly 1000 cars previous to this one. There were a few stragglers perhaps 100 cars after the cut in but no logical explaination for a car this late with closed headlights. Also the engine number given is likely not correct, probably a typo. Perhaps 7E17526-9? The ribbed valve covers would not be standard either but the seller says he has the other ones.

10k miles since engine rebuild by owner 23 years ago. As an engineering student and neurosurgery resident, I owned and restored dozens of Jaguars beginning in the 1960's. This and a '67 coupe were the best of the bunch, and I've kept them for all these years, continuously licensed and occasionally driven - less and less frequently, as growing Ferrari collection has displaced them, and now obliges sale.

Repainted in Imron 22 years ago, clean bodywork with no rust bubbles anywhere, few door dings and scratches (in garage as kids grew up). Repaint to show or enjoy as a daily driver.

Set up for tall driver; seats mounted directly to floor. 3" competition seat belts. Original leather in good condition. Beautiful dark blue canvas top. Good chrome all around. Complete tool kit, manuals. New brakes and hoses last year.

1967 was the last year for the classic design with glass-covered headlights, displayed in several art museums. Triple SU carburetors (pre-emission controls), real toggle switches, etc. Improvements over '62-4 include 4.2 litre engine, full synchromesh, more comfortable seats. This is the year to own! Engine # is 7E 7526-9.

1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Roadster
Chassis no. 1E 15576
This roadster was delivered new to the USA market in mid-1967 and distributed through Jaguar Cars of New York, it was originally was finished in Opalescent Silver Blue with Dark Blue upholstery. The first owner is recorded as a Mr. Philip Raoul Gordon from Baltimore, Maryland. In around 1977 the car was acquired by a young Doctor also from Maryland (probably as the 2nd owner) and would remain his pride and joy for the next 28 years. Initially it was used as a daily driver in conjunction with a ’67 E-type Coupe, but after getting married in 1984 and with a young family on the way the E-type was seldom driven. In 2005 it passed to the current ownership and has since benefited from a huge amount of work and restoration costs. At some stage during its life the original engine was replaced with another 4.2 liter unit. Work has included a bare metal repaint in Jaguar color code 260 of Silver Grey and a complete retrim with stunning tan upholstery and interior along with a new dark brown top. The engine was fully rebuilt along with the suspension and brakes. A new wiring loom was also fitted. In total the owner believes he has around $150,000 invested in this iconic and beautiful covered headlamp Jaguar E-Type Roadster.
