This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was completed on March 9, 1967, and distributed via Jaguar of Eastern Canada in Montreal. The car is finished in red and powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, Wilwood front calipers, a stainless steel dual exhaust system, and a retro-look stereo with Bluetooth. The car was acquired by the seller in 2018, and subsequent service involved refreshing the interior in tan upholstery, rebuilding the triple SU carburetors, overhauling the heater assembly, and replacing the exhaust manifolds. An oil and coolant change was performed in preparation of sale. This XKE is now offered with tools, partial service records, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Georgia title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in British Racing Green, the car was repainted in its current shade of red under prior ownership. The windshield was replaced in 2020, and exterior details include a black soft top, recessed Lucas tri-bar headlights with clear covers, split chrome-finished bumpers, a louvered forward-hinged hood, door-mounted side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, and taillights mounted above the rear bumpers. LED running lights have been installed, per the seller. Black plastic caps cover holes in the door jam and firewall made to access closed compartments for rust proofing.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured via two-eared knock-off spinners and wear 185/80 Michelin XVS tires that were mounted in August 2019. A matching spare wheel and tire are mounted under the trunk floor. The car is equipped with a fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes featuring Wilwood front calipers and inboard-mounted rear units. Work performed since 2018 involved replacing the front shocks, front brake rotors, brake master cylinder, and lower control arm bushings.
Trimmed in black from the factory, the interior was reupholstered in 2018 and features low-back bucket seats covered in tan leather accompanied by a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. The floors have been lined with sound-deadening material and are covered with Jaguar-branded rubber mats. Lap belts are provided for both occupants, and additional appointments include a wooden shift knob, and a sliding rearview mirror. A Retro Manufacturing stereo with Bluetooth is linked to a trunk-mounted, 1000-watt Alpine amplifier powering 6.5″ speakers, dash-mounted tweeters, and a subwoofer. Additional sets of 6×5″ and 6×9″ speakers are included in the sale. The heater assembly was overhauled under current ownership.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel is mounted to a quick-release hub and fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock. Auxiliary gauges are housed in the center stack above a row of toggle switches for vehicle functions. The speedometer, clock, and coolant temperature gauge were rebuilt in December 2019, and the five-digit odometer shows 76k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with polished valve covers, an aluminum radiator, an electric fan, a Pertronix ignition coil, an electronic distributor, and triple SU side-draft carburetors that were rebuilt in 2018. Additional work performed under current ownership involved replacing the exhaust manifolds, water pump, alternator, front crankshaft seal, battery, and spark plugs. An oil and coolant change was performed in October 2023 and the removed mechanical distributor is included in the sale.
Block stamping 7E12666-9 is listed on the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate as the engine number.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. A protective coating is said to have been applied to the underside, and a stainless steel dual exhaust system is installed.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
The Georgia title is marked as a “replacement certificate” that was issued on May 9, 2022.
