Incredible, we've known this car since the early 90s. A customer of ours bought the E-Type from one of our competitors. Whereby buying is not entirely correct. The company also offered restorations, but these were not carried out in-house. The E-Type was their reference object and demonstration vehicle. The deposit was accepted for ordered cars but a car was never delivered. My customer, a wise man, saw his skins float away and secured his claim by taking over this E-Type. Time now proves that the restoration was good. After almost 30 years, it still looks exactly the same as on the first day.
For the first time we were allowed to buy the car from our customer's daughter, then found a jeweler as the new owner. We fixed this and that for him, such as attaching the missing defrost hoses - who needs a defroster on an open E-Type that is only driven when the weather is nice. After the jeweler - 12 years later - the car received a complete technical overhaul, so that errors such as incorrect brake calipers and other odds and ends met today's originality requirements. We have now bought it back for the third time because its current owner has bought a Racing E-Type that is more in keeping with its nature than this well-maintained, fully restored open classic. Even now Simone has drawn up a list of detailed work that one expects from a car of this class. It now has the correct drive-in adhesive, a complete tool roll, a correct jack and of course we will demonstrate the car and perform a thorough service for the new owner
