Originally delivered in Carmen Red, the exterior was refinished in white circa 1975. Additional work at the time reportedly included repairing the outer rocker panels and filling in the seams on the bonnet. Equipment includes a back soft top, a matching top boot, chrome bumpers with overriders, and quad exhaust tips. The seller notes that a ding is present in the left door and that the rear window has yellowed.

Chrome 15″ knock-off wheels are mounted with Michelin tires which the seller states should be replaced due to age. The car is equipped with disc brakes and Koni shocks. Service since 2021 reportedly included flushing the brake fluid and rebuilding the front brake calipers, as well as replacing the brake master cylinder, vacuum servo unit, and front brake pads.

The bucket seats were recently recovered in black leather, and equipment includes lap belts and a passenger grab bar. The seller notes that the radio is inoperative.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles, approximately 300 of which were added during current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with triple SU carburetors, tubular headers, an Ansa exhaust system, and a Moss gear-reduction starter, as well as an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. The seller states that service since 2021 included rebuilding the distributor and carburetors, reconditioning the fuel tank, replacing the battery, fuel sending unit, and fuel filters, and performing an oil change and a tune-up.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox. Service since 2021 reportedly included replacing the clutch master and slave cylinders.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate shows the original configuration and colors, along with serial numbers for the chassis, engine, body, and gearbox. Books, magazines, and additional documents are included in the sale, along with a car cover, jack, hammer, and spare and removed parts.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
