    Ebay item 10/17/08
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-ROADSTER-BEAUTIFUL-1967-JAGUAR-XKE-SER ...
Opening bid $40,000, no reserve, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
1967 JAGUAR XKE ROADSTER SERIES 1 CONVERTIBLE. PRESENT OWNER PURCHASED VEHICLE IN PENNSYLVANIA IN 1996. PREVIOUS OWNER WAS A DOCTOR IN THE PHILADELPHIA AREA WHO FOUND THE CAR AFTER YEARS OF STORAGE. THE ODOMETER REGISTERED 20 + K, AND ALTHOUGH THAT MILEAGE WAS NOT VERIFIABLE, THE CONDITION OF THE CAR INDICATED THAT IT WAS ACTUAL. HE THEN HAD PERFORMED A LOWER OVERHAUL ON THE ORIGINAL ENGINE, PROVIDED NEW LEATHER SEATS, TOP, DOOR PANELS, FLOOR COVERING, ALONG WITH NEW FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS, AND OTHER UPGRADED NON-CORROSIVE ITEMS. THE CAR WAS ALSO FITTED WITH NEW STAINLESS STEEL WHEELS AND EXHAUST SYSTEM.

THE CAR HAS FEWER THAN 50 MILES SINCE A COMPLETE TRIPLE CARBURETOR REBUILD BY RENOWNED SU CARB MAN JOE CURTO, FROM NEW YORK, AND NOW RUNS AS WELL AS IT EVER DID.

THE BODY HAS MINOR PAINT BUBBLING UNDER THE RIGHT SIDE HOOD, ON THE BODY, UNCHANGED SINCE PURCHASE, AND IS OTHERWISE VERY SOLID.

THIS EXCELLENT XKE PRESENTLY SHOWS @ 28,200 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. IT HAS BEEN STORED IN A HEATED GARAGE AND BABIED FOR APPROXIMATELY THE LAST 5 YEARS. ALL DASHBOARD GAUGES AND SWITCHES ARE OPERABLE. ALL LIGHTS AND HEATER ARE FUNCTIONING AS WELL AS THE MANUAL CHOKE SYSTEM. VEHICLE HAS A NEW BATTERY. ALSO RECENTLY HAD THE FUEL TANK CLEANED. THE SENDING UNIT FOR THE TACHOMETER ORIGINATING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OVERHEAD CAMSHAFT IS INOPERATIVE, ALTHOUGH THE TACHOMETER ITSELF IS IN WORKABLE CONDITION. ORIGINAL AM RADIO IS INOPERATIVE, BUT LIGHTS UP WHEN TURNED ON.

ALSO INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE ARE A CONVERTIBLE TOP BOOT AND AN EXTRA SET OF CHROME WHEELS (BELIEVED TO BE THE ORIGINAL WHEELS).

THE VEHICLE HAS NO ACCIDENT HISTORY SINCE MY OWNERSHIP.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
