1967 JAGUAR E-TYPE 4.2 LITER SERIES 1 ROADSTER --Racing Green with Tan leather interior, Tan carpeting, Black everflex top, 27,000 original miles from new, Restored, Triple S.U. carb 4.2 liter engine, 4-speed transmission, Numbers matching. Vin: 1E14712 This E-Type has been delivered to its original owner on Mr. P. Martin on February 27th, 1967 and is a late Series 1 car, often referred to as a Series 1.25 as the serial number is before the Series 1.5 cars, which had notable differences. These rare late Series 1 cars feature headlights retaining the covered lens bucket contours and the desirable triple SU carburetors, maintaining the original and impressive 265hp and Salisbury limited slip differential.
This Roadster is believed to be an original 27,000 miles example. Early history is unknown, but the chassis and body unequivocally acknowledge this. As a result of originality and a devoted maintenance regimen, it is one of the nicest, tightest, straightest and most honest E-type's we have seen. Purchased in 2002 by its current owner-collector, a well-known client to Autosport Designs Inc., it has been well-cared for and was (circa 1990's) sympathetically restored by well-known Jaguar specialist, Ed Miller in Stormville, NY.
During its 16-year current ownership, this E-type has received annual servicing as needed, maintenance as well as various and upgrades to maintain its superb, ready to use condition. Within the past two years, a complete new interior in stunning Tan leather was executed with the finest craftsmanship and materials throughout. In addition, the complete braking system has been refurbished, all fluids and filters refreshed and all regular maintenance has kept this example in absolutely excellent driving order.
A recent road test attests to the car performing flawlessly in every way, and it is indeed ready for immediate use and enjoyment. This E-type is complete with owner records as well as factory tools, hammer, jack and Heritage Certificate.
