This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was acquired by the current owner in 2003 and was subsequently refurbished. The exterior was stripped and refinished in white with a tan convertible top, the tan leather interior was refreshed, the 4.2-liter inline-six was rebuilt, and a five-speed manual transmission was installed. Equipment includes triple SU carburetors, chrome-finished wire wheels, Wilwood disc brakes, Koni shocks, Smiths instrumentation, and a Blaupunkt stereo. The current owner has added approximately 7k miles to the car, and service has included replacing the clutch assembly, ignition components, and battery. This E-type is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with a removed four-speed manual transmission, receipts, refurbishment photos, a tool roll, a car cover, and a clean California title.
The car is said to have been disassembled and refinished in Old English White under current ownership, at which time much of the brightwork was refreshed. The white paint is complemented by a tan soft top with a clear plastic rear window and a boot cover. Other features include enclosed headlights and dual exhaust that terminates under the rear valance.
Chrome-plated 15×6.5″ wire wheels utilize knock-off hubs and are mounted with Pirelli P4000 tires. A Wilwood four-wheel disc braking system has been installed along with polyurethane bushings. Koni shocks were installed in 2010, and service in 2016 included replacing the master cylinder and flushing the brake system.
The refreshed interior features bucket seats with tan leather upholstery that extends to the console. Tan carpeting is protected by darker floor mats, and the selling dealer notes evidence of use in the driver-side footwell. Other equipment includes lap belts with Jaguar-branded buckles as well as a Blaupunkt Key Largo stereo paired with twin speakers in the center stack.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock. Auxiliary gauges extend to the center of the dash above driver switchgear. The five-digit odometer shows 56k miles, approximately 7k of which have been added by the current owner. True mileage is unknown.
The refurbished trunk houses a chrome-plated wire wheel mounted with a Dunlop Road Speed RS5 tire.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with triple SU carburetors with a polished finish. Shortly after the current owner acquired the car the engine was rebuilt, which included machine work, .020″-over pistons, and replacement timing chains, bearings, gaskets, hoses, and more. The exhaust system was refinished at that time, and in 2010 the coil and other ignition components were replaced along with the coolant hoses and clamps. In 2016 the coolant was flushed and an adjustable temperature switch was installed for the cooling fan. Other features include an aluminum radiator and an Optima battery.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission, which was installed under current ownership. The clutch assembly was replaced in 2010.
A removed four-speed manual gearbox will accompany the vehicle, as will a car cover, jack, tool roll, hammer, maintenance chart, and manuals.
