Ebay item 12/9/13
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-Roadster-1967-jaguar-xke-series-1-convertible-cov ...
Current bid $16,400 reserve not met, 7 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
This car should be considered a FULLY DOCUMENTED Jaguar XKE Series 1 with covered headlights, all synchronized gearbox, and tri-power. It is a great driver showing various signs of wear and patina. Other than touch ups on miss. chips & scratches; the paint is still the first re-spray from 1972. Therefore; paint is old & has checking, bubbles, & minor defects. I would not consider the paint show condition but rather a decent looking car from ten feet away with original floor pans. This car is not 100% rust free but should be considered good to excellent structurally with only minor signs of rust and paint swelling. The current mileage is very close to advertised but I drove it to storage and need to go verify the current mileage. It is still less than 30,000 original miles.
I purchased the car from an enthusiast with 29004 original miles that bought the car in July of 1972. This car had 26,624 original miles & had just been repainted in early 1972 I would not consider the paint show condition but rather a decent looking car from about ten feet away. There is some paint bubbling (swelling) on the rocker panel. The floor pans are original with one 2" by 6" welded patch between the front edge of the drivers side foot well drop pan and the bottom of the firewall. Other than that, the trunk, main floors, and foot well drop pans are original. Please note the deck lid (lower trunk floor) drain holes are also original and functional. Immediately after the new owner purchased this Jaguar he had a tune up, valve job, brake work, & clutch replacement documented by an original service ticket (dated 7-27-1972) showing the car vin# & mileage of 26624. Another service ticket dated 10-11-1996 for an oil change and complete brake job again shows the Vin# and original mileage of 28,627. There are other numerous sale tickets for filters, oil, brake fluid, exhaust, carburetor rebuilds, etc. from 1972 to present. This XKE has documented service & mileage history with the previous owners signed mileage affidavit. The owner had the seats recovered (maybe vinyl?) and the soft top replaced over 20 years ago but they are fully functional. My Jaguar runs & drives EXCELLENT showing great oil pressure at idle. All systems appear to be functional and I drove this car on several occasions. The steering wheel is original and the horn occasionally goes off in a hard left turn. The tires are original with tubes from 1972 but actually run well. An electric cooling fan has been added and it has never overheated while I have driven it. This Jaquar XKE is an original white car, black interior, with all numbers matching the original VIN tag. The radio & speakers fit correctly but are not original. The general interior is original and in good serviceable condition including carpets, door panels, etc. The spare is included. The chrome is original and in good condition but again showing patina. There is no boot cover when the top is down. Yes, I am sick about offering my car for sale as it will be unlikely to replace it but storage is a problem & I need to sell sometime in the near future. I have replaced the battery, clutch master & slave cylinder rebuild, and small misc. items.

Car returns to ebay 5/8/14
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-1967-Jaguar-E-Type-Roadster-OTS-Gorgeous-All- ...
Current bid $44,500 reserve not met, 29 bids 9 days left in auction. Previous auction says sold at $66,406 after 62 bids. Car now said to be in Santa Barbara, California. 29k miles.
Sellers description:
Offered for sale is an absolutely gorgeous, entirely numbers matching, completely rust-free 1967 Jaguar E-Type OTS finished in factory correct (per the original JDHT certificate) and perpetually tasteful Cream over black leather with an original, solid and unmolested undercarriage. Often mistaken for Old English White (which was offered on XKs between 1952-1961 and on Series II and III E-Types from 1970-1974), Cream was Jaguar's color designation for white between 1962-1969, a timeless and understated hue that perfectly offsets the E-Types lasciviously styled body. In terms of desirability, closed headlamp Series I E-Types are at the top of the list and final year examples are considered by many to be the most sought after, blending the preferred early design cues with the stronger, more reliable 4.2L inline six. If you're looking for an excellent investment that you can drive and enjoy, this 1967 E-Type checks all the important boxes.
Delivered new to an attorney in Moline, Illinois, he would own the car for the better part of three decades, eventually selling it to a local business associate. The second owner kept the car in Moline until 2005, when it was acquired by a Jaguar enthusiast from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We came across the car late last year and found it to be in lovely condition - very strong mechanically, cosmetically beautiful, entirely rust-free and honest - a testament to the high level of care afforded by its three previous owners. Throughout its life the car has been a garage queen, enjoyed in moderation, properly maintained and garaged, with refurbishments taking place as needed. That said, it's worth reinforcing that at its core this is an exceptionally original, numbers matching example.
Professionally refinished, the factory correct Cream paint is in fantastic shape: deep, lustrous and marred only by the most insignificant of imperfections, none of which are visible in the pictures. The body is entirely straight, free of dings or dents and retaining consistent gaps and panel fits throughout. The brightwork and all of the glass is in good original condition, as are the knock-off chrome wire wheels. The interior is equally as clean, the seats having been recently reupholstered in the correct leather and the soft top and accompanying boot cover having been replaced. Excellent compression across all cylinders. The cooling system works well and the exhaust note from the dual stainless system is fantastic, the perfect accompaniment to the visceral, grin-inducing ride quality. The car drives and brakes straight and true, the suspension is tight and the car is a joy to drive, whether tooling through town, roaring through the canyons or bombing down the highway.
With Series I E-Types fetching outlandish prices in recent collector car auctions, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire a fairly priced, honest, beautiful, very original and appreciating final year example with strong, numbers matching mechanicals and clean aesthetics. Whether it will continue service as a cherished weekend driver, as a Jaguar Club of North America touring and event participant or as a welcomed addition to a collection, this gorgeous example needs nothing to be enjoyed but a doting new owner.
