The car has never been restored and is believed to be 100% original with the exception of the paint and seats. The car is free of rust with the exception of some small bubbling near the front and rear wheelwells.

The Jaguar Factory never officially produced a Series 1.5 model. This is the common name given to the very last of the E-Types that were produced in late 1966 as 1967 models. As such, this car sports the open headlamps on the bonnet.

This car crossed the block at the Amelia Island Concours RM Classic Car Auction on Saturday, March 13, 2004. Not a bad car... though I did not get to look at it for more than a few minutes. Bidding opened at $30,000 and ran up to $60,000 (!) but it did not sell, so the seller obviously thought it worth more. Seems crazy to me, as $60 is more than enough for a s1.5 OTS!

The auction catalog states:
Current owner for past 5 years. (if so, then why the boost from $42 to over $60?)

Something wrong here - this car is over three months too early to have open headlamps. The bonnet must have been replaced early in its life, either due to accident damage or to update its looks?

Extraordinary that reputable auction companies have marketed it as a Series 1.5 (which it isn't) without a single comment!
