Sellers description for above auction:
1966 Jaguar Series 1 E-type Numbers Matching rust-free California Car. Completely Restored! 4.2 Liter Manual transmission

Car no. 1E12754 Body no. 4E4299 Engine no. 7E81399 Gearbox no. EJ7123
1966 Jaguar Series 1 E-Type 4.2 convertible with hard top. Low 39,800 mile car. I purchased the car from the original owner. It was a very nice presentable rust free car. The original lacquer paint was crazing in spots so I had it stripped down to bare metal and re-sprayed. The car was disassembled and painted properly.

At this time I had the engine removed and completely rebuilt. The compression and oil pressure are perfect. Transmission was serviced and a new clutch was installed as well. The cooling system, brakes and suspension have all been attended to as well. My goal was to build a stunning drivable Jaguar and that has been achieved.

After the paint was completed and the car reassembled I installed a completely new correct interior. The interior fit and finish are impeccable. I took the liberty at this point to install heat and sound deadening material through out the floor and fire wall underneath the carpet as to increase the comfort level in the cockpit. It works very nicely and the considerable expense was worth it. I don’t listen to the radio while driving so one was never installed.

As stated earlier this was a very, very nice low mile car that has undergone a full restoration. The car can now be driven to New York and back without hesitation if one so desires. I personally would not desire that, but it is nice to know the car is capable of it. When I leave the garage for a Sunday morning jaunt I know the Jag will bring me home safe and sound.

Front and rear bumpers and door trims re-chromed. All other chrome in excellent original condition. Brand new period correct,UK supplied black with charcoal lined hardtop. Original wire knockoff wheels.

I have extensive receipts for all work done. All parts were procured via XKE’s Unlimited and all work was done by a renowned Jaguar specialist. The car could not be replicated at the price I am asking for it. It is a stunning drivable car in the best colour combination that will increase in value.

Knockoff hammer and jack included.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
