This 1966 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was produced on February 17, 1966, and distributed through Jaguar cars of New York. The car was reportedly refurbished under previous ownership and was acquired by the seller in 2019. Subsequent work included installing a five-speed manual transmission, an electric power steering kit, and an aftermarket sound system as well as replacing the radiator, fuel pump, rear shocks, and battery. Power is provided by a replacement Series II 4.2-liter inline-six, and the car is finished in maroon over black leather upholstery. Additional equipment includes a black soft top and top boot, chrome wire wheels, glass headlight covers, and triple SU carburetors. This XKE Roadster is offered with service records from current ownership, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.

The body was finished at the factory in Opalescent Maroon and was reportedly refinished during a 2017 refurbishment. Features include a replacement black soft top, a black mohair top boot, glass headlight covers, chrome bumpers with overriders, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes that the hood requires adjustment.

Replacement chrome 15” wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 185-width Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. A spare is stored in the rear compartment. An electric power steering kit was installed in 2019, and the rear shocks were replaced in 2021.

The reupholstered interior features low-back bucket seats trimmed in black leather along with a color-matching dashboard and door panels. Red-checked Coco mats protect black carpets, and equipment includes a cabin heater, lap belts, a wood shift knob, an aftermarket RetroSound head unit, and rear Pioneer speakers.

A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock. Gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are mounted in the center stack. LED dash bulbs were installed in 2019. The five-digit odometer shows 88k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership. The tachometer was repaired in 2020 and the speedometer was rebuilt in 2021. Total mileage is unknown.

The twin-cam 4.2L inline-six was replaced with a Series II engine under previous ownership and features triple SU carburetors and polished valve covers. Service under current ownership has included replacing the carburetor jets in 2019, installing an aluminum radiator in 2020, and replacing the fuel pump and fuel lines in 2022.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement five-speed manual transmission that was installed by Twin Cam Sportscars in 2019.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate indicates a manufacture date in February 1966 and lists the colors, equipment, and identification numbers as well as distribution through Jaguar Cars of New York.
