    Auction description:
    Lot : 56
    1965 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Roadster
    Current ownership since 1979
    Estimate: SOLD for £39900
    Registration No: DLH233C
    Chassis No: 1E1067
    Engine No: 7E2025-9
    CC: 4235
    Colour: Silver Blue
    Trim Colour: Dark Blue
    MOT: T.B.A.

Finished in Dark Blue with Dark Blue leather upholstery, this particular example is described by the vendor as being in "excellent overall" condition. Built as a home market 4.2 Litre Roadster on 21st December 1964 and despatched to dealer Henlys of London the following month, 'DLH 233C' is said to have had its "engine reconditioned by Jaguar on 19th January 1979" before entering the current ownership during September that year. Reportedly showing 66,000 miles upon acquisition and 70,318 miles whilst undergoing an extensive restoration between November 1995 and April 1997, the current odometer reading is stated to be circa 73,700 miles. Treated to approximately £1,000 worth of rechroming in March 2008, the two-seater is thus understood to have covered some 3,500 miles since the 1990s refurbishment and 8,400 odd miles on its reconditioned engine. Coming to the market for the first time in nearly thirty years, this desirable E-type is offered for sale with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, photographic restoration record and parts / labour bills totalling £40,500.

PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle has an MOT certificate valid until 6th October 2009

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
