1965 JAGUAR XKE ROADSTER for sale. Motorcar Classics is now offering this incredible 1965 Jaguar XKE Roadster featured in Opalescent Silver Blue with Navy Blue leather interior and matching Navy Blue Haartz canvas soft top. The car has just completed an incredible and photo-documented nut and bolt restoration. The restoration was done on a sound car from dry Texas whose prior owner had the car for 28 years. Built on January 19th, 1965 it is an early car, the 502nd 4.2L LHD OTS built. JDHT Heritage Certificate included. All numbers match. For the XKE enthusiast, this car has the desirable combination of covered headlights, toggle switches, and eared knockoffs.
Max Weinbergs hero was bandleader/drummer Dave Clark, of the Dave Clark Five, who is photographed on the cover of Catch Us If You Can lying across the bonnet of an XKE. From then on, Max always said he would own an XKE of the same vintage, and this is the car.
Maxs car was originally Pale Primrose, but he changed it to period-correct Opalescent Silver Blue. In the restoration the brakes were upgraded to Wilwood all-around, and the engine runs ceramic headers. It is detailed to perfection in all respects and a thrill to drive.
FROM THE MAX WEINBERG COLLECTION
Max Weinberg, known to millions of music fans all over the world as the King Of The Big Beat, is an iconic American drummer and a 2014 inductee into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Most widely known as the longtime drummer for Bruce Springsteens E Street Band and the founding bandleader of The Max Weinberg 7 on NBCs Late Night With Conan OBrien and The Tonight Show, Mr. Weinberg is a passionate automobile enthusiast and the choices in his collection come from a lifetime of emotive automotive connections. Purchasers of cars from this collection will be invited for photographs with Max and the car.

Built on January 18, 1965 it was dispatched February 1st, 1965 and sold to Ellis McClenny from Jaguar Cars in New York. It is the 502nd 4.2L LHD OTS built. The restoration was done on a sound core car hailing from the nice and dry state of Texas, whose prior owner had the car for 28 years. A Heritage Certificate accompanies the car verifying the originality, and that the numbers match. It had been restored by Jaguar professionals and had been well sorted and maintained since the restoration, driven sparingly, and kept in a collection.
